8. Robyn & Stephen (Australia)

Stephen and Robyn at Moo Shen Farm having a wonderful experience volunteering, and recommends all to get involved in organic farming.

LOHAS style is becomming a trend. The WWOOF Taiwan organization helps volunteers from foreign countries to visit Taiwan and experience the organic farm-life. Australian wwoofers Stephen and Robyn stayed a short period of 10 days on Miaoli County's Moo Shen Farm, and recommends all to experience organic farming lifestyle.

While wearing a pair of rain boots, Stephen expresses that this is his first time working in the field. "There is a sense of freshness and fun knowing that you are taking care of strawberries that never came in contact with pesticides." He also said organic strawberries are very tasty, and that organic corn is even tastier.

Mr. Lin is the farm host at Moo Shen Farm. Previously he was a member of the Natural Habitat Organization, aiming at protecting the natural habitat and spearding a healthy living mentality. Mr. Lin has a lot of passion for organic farming, and thus decided to spend most of his time doing organic farming. Although farm life can be gruesome at times he insists that protecting the land is something he must continue. Mr. Lin says, "when you become a member of Moo Shen Farm we encourage everyone to pick their own vegetables, you can get a good body workout while doing it. If you are a member residing locally you can also save on shipping".

Mr. Chen owns Ming De Dam Organic Farm and expresses that consumers can use this opportunity to personally see organic farming in action. It is a way to "communicate with the land". In March of this year, Maoli County established a farmers market at a local organic restaurant, giving organic farmers a place to sell their produce. It also serves as a gathering place for Maoli's tourists, giving the locals a place to relax and create wonderful memories filled with LOHAS lifestyle.
